ABS/ABSSL Wear Scar Measurement Camera (ABSWS)
On this page: Description | Calibration | Measurement | Specification

Description
The microscope camera and software is an optional accessory for the ABS microscope which allows the user to capture calibrated images of a wear scar and measure the wear scar on the PC screen. The wear scar image and measurements are saved with the test data file and can be printed on the test report. The camera functionality is an integral part of the ABS software which allows test data files to be exchanged between labs and the measurements to be viewed and, if required, re-measured with full traceability.
Supplied components
- Camera with PCS microscope adapter including USB connecting cable
- Calibration Kit
- Camera Software
The camera is supplied with an adaptor for the standard PCS microscope.
Simple USB connection to camera
Calibration
Camera calibration is done using a certified calibration graticule (supplied).

The software also includes a facility for quickly checking the calibration if necessary. A quick calibration procedure using the graticule starts by capturing the image and entering the calibrated diameter from the certificate supplied.

Measurement
Images can be recalled and remeasured, with the measurement history saved along with the image data.
