HFRR Connecting Cable and Humidity/Temperature Probe

An optional combined humidity and temperature probe can be connected to the rear of the HFRR control unit. For some test procedures the wear scar must be adjusted to compensate for the effect of fuel moisture content on the result. The probe will automatically measure the ambient temperature and humidity at the start and end of the test, instead of the user having to make the measurements manually.

Supplied components

• HFRR Humidity and Temperature probe
• Probe connecting cable
• Probe bracket (not required if using an HFRR Humidity Controlled Cabinet )

If the instrument is being used with a humidity controlled cabinet the probe should be located in the provided fitting on the left side of the cabinet. If the instrument is not being used with a humidity controlled cabinet, a bracket is supplied with the probe to enable the probe to be connected to the side of the mechanical unit.

The bracket supplied is fitted to the right hand side of the instrument (when viewed from the test chamber end) using the front cover screw as shown above.

The HFRR humidity and temperature probe can be purchased separately without cable and bracket. The part code for this item is HFRHUM.

Important Information

Users that require replacement probes for older units (serial number: D1229 and below) will be supplied with an upgrade kit to convert to the newer version of probe. This kit will comprise of replacement probe, connecting cable, socket and pcb adapter. Please speak to your distributor or PCS for more information.

Verification

A humidity verification kit is available to self-check if the humidity probe is measuring the correct relative humidity. Please note that the instrument cannot be adjusted to calibrate the probe. If the probe is found to be out of specification then it can be returned for recalibration/replacement.
