HFRR (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig)

After calibration has been carried out the HFRR is ready run a test. The steps below are required to succesfully run a test.
1. Cleaning

Prior to testing, the parts that will come into contact with the test lubricant should be thoroughly cleaned. The specific requirements of the relevant standard test method should be followed regarding specimen cleaning.
2. Setting-up a test
This section describes how to load the specimens after cleaning and prepare the HFRR to to run a test.
3. Interpretation of results

After the test has completed, remove the upper specimen holder and measure the wear scar on the specimen in the X and Y directions (the dimension across the direction of specimen motion is the X dimension). This section describes how to interpret these results under a microscope.
