MTM Barrel Assembly (Part code: MTMBARRELASSY)
Consisting of 3 parts (the barrel holder, the barrel roller and spacer including retaining screw) the standard ball configuration can be changed to a roller configuration. The rounded outer edge of the barrel is loaded against the flat rotating disk specimen giving a different contact geometry (ellipse) and contact pressures.
Thanks to its very small radius, the barrel can generate high pressures up to 3.2 GPa (at 75 N) against 1.3 GPa with the classic ¾” ball.
